Honors Program Student-led Book Conversations
Engaging in conversation around books has many benefits. It contributes to our intellectual growth, helps us learn about the world around us, leads us to decide what we think about various important issues, and allows us to hear others’ thoughts on these issues. For all these reasons, student-led book conversations are a regular practice in the Messiah University Honors Program. We focus on recent non-fiction books that are interesting, important, engaging, and written for a broad audience of educated readers. In other words, smart but not necessarily scholarly books capable of sustaining wide-ranging conversation.
