Molly's Career Journey
After completing her undergraduate degree, Molly served in the messiah º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇøs office for five years. As she grew in her profession, Molly shared, "I noted a passion for stewardship and finance, and eventually followed this passion to my current work in financial advising."
Working as a Financial Advisor
Molly stated that finance is one of the largest stressors impacting marriages and families, and the conversations we have with clients often become very personal and vulnerable. I utilize perception checking, interpersonal relationship skills, development analysis, strengths theory and more as I navigate the root of my clients’ needs and seek to find effective solutions."
How has HDFS prepared you?
Molly highlighted the various professions that HDFS integrates into. She specified that Intro to Interpersonal Relationships, Dynamics of Family Interaction, Marital & Couple Relationships, HDFS Seminar, and Family Resource Management were the most helpful classes for her career.
How does faith interface with your work?
Molly shared, "I work for a Christian organization and am free to be very open about my faith with colleagues and clientele. We often pray as a team, encourage families with Biblical principles and teaching, and have worship playing in our office. It’s part of what we do!"
Molly's Advice
Molly highlights the need for students to center their hearts on Proverbs 3:5-6 which says, " Submit your ways to the Lord and He will make your path straight." She also encouraged students to network, be curious, and focus on building relationships. Additionally, she said to "travel, gain skills, and try new things!"
